Road Closed Mind Open
A sad, non-descript urban streetscape in San Francisco showed a “Road Closed” sign.
On a wide and major thoroughfare, backing up against a recently created park with plantings and benches. The city felt the “Road Closed” sign was necessary because a perpendicular street dead-ends there. Understood; safety first.
The “Mind Open” sign was fabricated to be the same size with the same font.
Quietly installed, the threads on the bolts were purposely damaged to make removal difficult. The sign was up for approximately 2 months in 2011 before it disappeared. Where is it now?
